Additionally, Ximda.com will be taking on consulting work in the weeks to come. If you are looking for a programming team that understands the importance of a good foundation and user interface then head over to the site and let us know

The AIR Houston competition is in full-swing! Creativerse has a team (okay…really it’s just me…but I’m out for blood) competiting in this year’s competition. My charity is The Fairy Godmother Project of Houston, and I am looking forward to kicking butt against Schipul and Webxites

Had dinner with Microsoft Dude and Melissa on Wednesday night. Surprisingly enough…he made me hate Microsoft less. So congrats to Caleb Jenkins on a “job” well done. Caleb’s title is “Developer Evangelist”, and is quite possibly one of the “coolest” jobs on earth. Mucho Envy coming your way dude Also found out that Melissa used to live in Morocco. We are definitely planning a trip

In the pipeline for Creativerse:

Redesign of NYPS

Design for College Tours of America

Development work for School Tours of America

That’s it for now folks I’ll be checking in again soon.
Interestingly enough, Kelsey and I tested out Skypecasting tonight…the quality was a bit better then average…and overall it was a very simple process. I have a vision for something big that I would like to do in the near future that is a combination of BarCamp, Universities, Podcasting, and Vlogging. We’ll keep it all hush-hush for now, but keep your eye out

Okay, so on to today. As promised, I am back in the swing of things again here on Reinventing Erica. So let’s get down to brass tacks.

Career Developments

Classes for U of H on Blogging & Web Apps start at the end of September, in combination with this I would like to visit with Michael Verdi at Node101 and chat a bit more about Vlogging.

Creativerse will be designing the website and promotional materials for College Tours of America this month.

I’d like to start a Video Podcast with Kelsey and Larry talking about how to use different Web 2.0 Apps. Nick and Zack from Seen Creative have already agreed to come on the show to discuss the design and development of their first Web App billQ.

Health & Fitness

Not Much to report on this front, except I have managed to avoid all Fast Food since the beginning of this project.

I’ll have to re-evaluate some of my current goals, finding a more realistic approach.

Financial Developments

Still saving, and spending less money on entertainment overall. Although, I’ll admit I spent a great deal of money on BCT this last weekend.

Intellectual Developments

BarCampTexas (enough said).

Today I also started Tony Robbin’s Personal Power. I’ll post more on this later tonight.
Friends and family disappoint us, employers and subordinates disappoint us, colleagues disappoint us, and sometimes even our mentors and heroes disappoint us. But nothing is more difficult than when we disappoint ourselves.

I’m severely disappointed with myself for a variety of reasons right now, even though a part of me knows that I am “doing the best I can”. But in this case, my best just isn’t good enough. I know that I’m not wonder woman. That there are only so many hours in the day. That when a crisis comes up – you do the very best that you can. I know that we learn more from failure than from success, and that it’s important to fail often…and fail fast.

Even though I haven’t posted in the last couple of days, I am not yet ready to throw in the towel…or to declare this project a failure. Instead, I would like to examine what’s working…and what’s not. Make some adjustments. Get right back up on that horse, and ride across that finish line. I hope you’ll all join me in the journey…and maybe learn a little bit about yourselves and about what the human spirit is capable of along the way.

Until tomorrow…this is Erica – signing off.

Health & Fitness: Doing phenomenally well with the nutrition part (haven’t had any fast food whatsoever). But, am doing less than satisfactory with working out. Need to find a way to motivate myself more in that area.

Career Developments: With the exception of a couple of minor setbacks, this is going extremely well. Have a lot of new business coming in this week for Creativerse, and also working hard on getting the new Creativerse site up and launched as soon as possible. Have to spend some time with G.V. next week looking at classrooms for my upcoming classes. Also, need to work on becoming an authority in my field, and writing the GTD book with Kelsey.

Intellectual Developments: Would like to come up with a list of movies and books to consume during the next 90 days.

Financial Developments: So-So. Saved around $500.00 from the last pay check, but would like to start saving at least $600 – $1000/month. Need to find a way to make an extra $100.00/week for savings.

There was no sprint out of the gate, but I hope to have a race to the finish line.

I wanted to reflect on attitude and persona today. If there is one thing I am proud of myself for over the last few months, it’s overcoming a lot of my personal fears. Some of those fears include calling and e-mailing strangers and acquaintances, and giving up too close to the finish line. What I’ve learned more than anything, is that it’s all a matter of attitude. If you act confidently (whether you are or not), people are more likely to believe and accept you. And, much more likely to be persuaded by you. Certainty Carries Power!

But, as proud as I am of those things — I know I still have a long way to go where FEAR is concerned. I haven’t developed an exact program or course of action yet, but in the next few days I intend to set out a detailed plan to overcome as many of my fears in the next 90 Days as possible. This will no doubt include facing at least one major fear each week.

Fitness Update: Not much progress in this arena…I’m hoping to make it to my Bikram Yoga Class tomorrow. The last three days I have been too sick to attend yoga classes or workout. By tomorrow I should be in a better state.
