Turns out that I’m allergic to like everything. Here’s a list of the things I have to cut out of my diet:

Blueberries

Eggs (both Egg Whites & Egg Yolk)

Peas (Green)

Walnuts (Black)

Yogurt

Cashews

Pepper (Black) <– I know…I couldn’t believe that either

Wheat

Cheese

Lobster

Safflower Oil

Crab

Milk (cow)

Sesame

Yeast

But I guess it could be worse. My friend Jenny is allergic to Grass & The Sun. So basically she can’t go outside at all…

So I guess you’re wondering what I’m gonna be eating? I was kind of wondering the same thing. If you’ve got some awesome recipes up your sleave for someone who’s allergic to all of the things above – I’d love for you to send them to me!

Like many of you – I received an email from Chris Brogan today. Chris was writing to all his friends and business acquaintances to let them know that he was taking on a new job at CrossTechMedia. In truth it was a form email – but it didn’t feel like one – and here’s why. At the end of the first paragraph Chris said:

“I am sending this to multiple people, so forgive me if this seems impersonal. Feel free to email me back to check in, if we haven’t spoken lately.”

Then he ends the email by saying:

“Please drop a line if you’ve any other questions, or if you want to bring me up to speed on what you’re doing. I’ll close with my contact info.”

On two separate occasions – Chris invites me into his life – and offers to do something that few business people ever do – Listen. Very Classy Chris – and thanks for the email!

The Tao of Fatness

Fatness is not good for our health. Fatness isn’t good for our self-confidence. Fatness is not good for our overall well-being. So why is it so widespread? I think that for a lot of people – myself included – Eating and Gaining weight are a form of protection. Thus we have this kind of Tao of Fatness – where it becomes part of our nature to continuously eat, gain weight, and protect ourselves. I’m working on a solution to all of this – and that’s really why I started this whole 90-day journey to begin with.

And So It Is

There’s a song by Damian Rice called The Blower’s Daughter – and the lyrics go something like this:

And so it is
Just like you said it would be
Life goes easy on me
Most of the time
And so it is
The shorter story
No love, no glory
No hero in her sky

And so for now – this is just how it is.

Surprisingly – I LOVE WORKING OUT – I always have. For me – it’s always just a matter of time (or lack there of). For a while I was making time early in the morning – working out with my lovely personal trainer Sarah. Now I’m taking some Yoga, Step Aerobics, Tai Chi classes and swimming. I enjoy activities that last no more than 90 minutes and that allow me to clear my head. Kind of the equivalent of that trusted GTD System – but for my body.

Failure

Where I always fail on my weight loss journey has to do with FOOD – or more importantly my associations with food. If I’m sad I eat (and I eat a lot). But if I’m happy I eat too. I eat to celebrate, to medicate, to socialize, and even to compromise. I have lunch meetings weekly – so staying on a diet is REALLY tough. But lately…

FANTASTICness

FANTASTICness of all FANTASTICness I am less hungry than ever before. And I don’t eat to medicate – and I haven’t been eating fast food – and I’ve been stopping well before I’m full…and I’ve been losing weight and keeping it off. I’d like to talk more here about what changes I’ve made – and why I think for once I’m finding the strength to stop the madness. But that will come in later posts. For now – I’d just like to thank you all for your encouragement.
