#resound11 Prompt 04: Superpower

Faster than a speeding bullet. More powerful than a locomotive. Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound … we know you’ve got one. What’s your 2011 superpower?

For those of you going what the what … stop. Think about it for a moment: what have you learned that you can do better than anyone you know this year? What can you do that no one else can? Don’t be shy!

How will you resound?

Yesterday, I read some old posts from this site – posts that aren’t here any more. There are a lot of reasons why I chose to “blankslate”. What I’d written here over the years didn’t seem to reflect me anymore. Or at least not the “me” I want to be. I could see glaring inconsistencies in my character.

But I was also heartbroken. And so many of my old posts just served to remind me how much I’d lost. How naive I’d been. And because of the marvels of technology, I could wash it all away with a single click. So I did. And I felt better.

But my Superpower is being raw and vulnerable on the page. And I know – because so many of you have told me – that my ability to be brave here has helped you to be brave in your own lives. So I’m gonna try again. Maybe here – or maybe some place else.
