This year, like the past few years I’ve chosen a Life #ThemeWord to guide my year.  My #ThemeWord for 2010 is ADVENTURE.  I also added a new tradition (at least publicly), of picking a Life #ThemeSong for the year.  This is actually a tradition I’ve been practicing since 2005.  For 2010, my #ThemeSong is Don’t Stop Believin’ by The Cast of GLEE.

Now it’s time to set down some hard, fast and concrete Resolutions for the Year Ahead.  But first – a short look back at what I accomplished in 2009.

  1. I lost 36 lbs.  I’m still not where I want to be – but I’m ecstatic that I didn’t gain a single pound back over the Holidays!
  2. I was Published.  I can now call myself a Writer.  But more importantly – I now think of myself as a Writer.
  3. I met my Hero Hank Wasiak – and we became Friends.  Like real friends – the kind who connect on a consistent basis and support one another.
  4. I found out that I’m surrounded by talented, smart, amazing, and loving people.  Too many to name – but here’s a quick shout out to a few: Tara Hunt, Sarah Worthy, Mark Schmulen, Ruth Kalinka, Erica Douglass, Seth Blank, Oz Sultan, Brett Petersel, Pete Cashmore, Laura Fitton, Kelsey Ruger, Marianne Masculino, Jenny Lawson, Ed Schipul, Karen Hartline, Scott Porad, Paige Craig, Ingrid Fuller, Cone Johnson, Blair Maupin, Michael Cummings, Ryan Plesko, Kyle Kolacek, Liz Strauss, Sheila Harrison, Carey Gravelle…I think I could go on forever!!!
  5. I traveled.  A Lot.  I even checked spending New Year’s in New York City off of my Bucket List – and got to see the TREE all lit up in Rockefeller Center.
  6. I said Goodbye to an Unhealthy Relationship.
  7. I got a Makeover – Courtesy of Urban RetreatClose friends didn’t even recognize me when it was all over!
  8. I learned that I have AMAZING clients.
  9. I blogged more.
  10. I reached out to people in ways that made me feel vulnerable and exposed – and I found out that there was nothing to FEAR.
  11. I Did It My Way.

Of course – there were many other things that I did and accomplished in 2009 – those were just my favorite Highlights. So – looking forward – what do I want to accomplish in 2010.

  1. I’d like to master the skill of Delegation.
  2. Write & Publish my first full length book – a collection of Memoirs entitled Twilight & Tea.
  3. Lose an additional 58 lbs.
  4. Complete my ReinventingErica.com 90 Day Challenge.
  5. Complete The Great Twitter Experiment.
  6. Save 100K by December 31st 2010 (more on this goal in a later post).
  7. Become a Blogger for The Huffington Post.
  8. Travel.  Even More Than Last Year.
  9. Finish The Bliss Ring Site.
  10. Video Blog More.  Much much more.  (Including more Lip Dubs ala Julia Allison)

So there’s my list of Goals for 2010.  Some are lofty – some are low hanging fruit.  What are your goals for 2010?  Feel free to post a link to your own resolutions post in the comments.

Hey Erica. Meeting you was a highlight for me in 2009. You have inspired me to embrace social media in the right way…for the connections, relationships and meaning that it can bring to whatever you are doing. It is a very special community because of people like you. My predictions….Twilight and Tea will be a great success and you will rock the Huffington Post.

Thanks Hank – now the question is – who do I talk to over at The Huffington Post to start that process…???

I guess it's better to have Challenging Goals then ones that are easily met ;)

Hey, Erica!

Nice list! I have two kinda short lists, and the second (loftier, broader) list is linked from the first (more everyday things to accomplish). Enjoy!
