My friend Kelsey Ruger has a knack for creating brilliant, unique and informative presentations on just about any topic you can name.  But the topic he loves to talk about the most is Creativity.  I invite you to take a peek at some of his past Creativity Presentations over on Slideshare, or read his blog on Creativity, Technology, Design & Leadership.  And so I dedicate Week 3 of ReinventingErica – CREATIVITY to my friend and mentor Kelsey.

Book of the Week – A Whole New Mind

This week’s book of the week is A Whole New Mind by Daniel Pink.

Lawyers. Accountants. Computer programmers. That’s what our parents encouraged us to become when we grew up. But Mom and Dad were wrong. The future belongs to a very different kind of person with a very different kind of mind. The era of “left brain” dominance, and the Information Age that it engendered, are giving way to a new world in which “right brain” qualities-inventiveness, empathy, meaning-predominate. That’s the argument at the center of this provocative and original book, which uses the two sides of our brains as a metaphor for understanding the contours of our times.

Goals for Week 3 – CREATIVITY

  • Walk at least 6 miles 5 days this week.
  • Journal all of the activities from A Whole New Mind
  • Drink at least 8 glasses of water each day
  • Finally write a Business Plan for Peanut Butter Media
  • Work Through Erica Douglass’s Blog Success Manifesto

Hey Erica. Would love to know what you think of Barbara Ehrenreich's new book: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/10/books/10ehrenre... I think it might be appropriate for a comment here.

A Whole New Mind Is a very good book. I actually incorporated it in the new design. BTW. I just recommended Change The Way You See Everything to someone else.
