Day 16: Blogger’s Block – Partnering for Success – 4th local media

Blogger’s Block

Have you ever suffered from Blogger’s Block? Where you know you should be blogging – but you can’t think of what to say? I know I have – and so has my friend Stammy. So what to do – have no fear – Problogger to the rescue: Battling Bloggers Block

My Favorites:

  1. Keep an idea journal – if you don’t already carry a Moleskine or it’s equivalent with you EVERYWHERE – it might be time to start. You never know when those great ideas are going to strike. I use mine to write down quotes and pearls of wisdom that I hear at Happy Hour Parties, Over Lunch, In Meetings – even things that come to me while driving. Of course – if you’re driving – it’s best to either pull over to the side of the road – or use a service like Jott or Utterz to record your thoughts.
  2. Read Other Blogs – The best writers are the best readers. So read through your feeds. It’s also a good idea to keep your feeds fresh – so spend one day every week finding new blogs to read – and weeding out the blogs that have become stale or died off.
  3. Combine Two Disconnected Ideas – this is something that I’m getting ready to incorporate more into my own blog. I love the idea of mixing two seemingly un-related subjects. For instance – Philosophy and Design, or Oranges and Medicine.

Partnering for Success

I love having my own company. And I love doing things on my own. But there is a lot to be said for having a partner to help share the burden. My friend Dayna Marcum and I have decided to start partnering from time to time under a new Joint Venture called 4th local media.

4th local media

4th local media combines Social Media Consulting and Cause Marketing. Our goal is to help Non-Profit and Cause based companies spread their message.
