Day 4: Sleeping Late – Feed Reading – From Life to Journeyman

Sleeping Late

I’ve always considered Sunday my day to relax - and yes play a little catch-up. Today I slept in late (like until Noon), Read a Book in Bed, and then spent the rest of the day catching up on work.

Feed Reading

For most people - the amount of email they get is overwhelming. That’s true for me too - but if you’re involved in technology than your Email is NOTHING compared to the number of Feeds you have to read or skim through each day. This is why Sunday’s are so great. This is my chance to ready through the 1000+ Feeds that have crept up in my RSS Reader (Google Reader). If you aren’t familiar with RSS and Feed Reading - don’t worry - I have just the answer. Here’s a short video explaining it all from my friend Lee Lefever of Common Craft:

From Life to Journeyman

Like a lot of Geeks I don’t actually have cable - mostly because I’m not home often enough to enjoy it. But I do watch online TV from time to time. This weekend I watched a couple of episodes from some shows I had never seen before - namely Life and Journeyman. Both were good - but not good enough to turn me into a regular viewer. I guess it goes back to that theory of “Remarkableness”. This is why traditional advertising doesn’t work anymore. It’s not enough to just “Interrupt” my thoughts - you have to engage me. And that takes interaction and dialogue.

I Have Blogger's Block
I was chatting with my friend Laura Mayes tonight - explaining how I have Blogger’s Block.  Tomorrow I head to San Francisco - and I’ve already stocked up on awesome reading materials for the plane - including the Complete Works of Jane Austen and Katharine Hepburn’s Autobiography.  Laura’s advice:

The best way to get out of a block is to read good writing.

And to go to Northern California.

Check. And Check.

Link Policy

My personal link policy is as follows - I only link to the blogs of people I actually know in real life (with the exception of the "Other Erica's" section). I think when you add someone to your blogroll there should be real meaning attached. Most of the people I link to are not only acquaintances - but folks I am lucky enough to call my friends.
