Yesterday I attended my first day at StartupWeekend – What a BLAST! This morning I’m exhausted and dragging a bit – so I might not make it up to Boulder until 11 – but I’ll definitely be there.
Here’s a quick recap of events:
- Friday Night – 68 People gathered in Boulder, CO to pitch ideas and vote on exactly what our newly formed company would do. Folks were broken into teams depending on skill and preference. The teams include: creative, development, promotions, Business/SEO, Legal, UI, & User Experience.
- Saturday – work starts on VoSnap. Legal drafts operating agreements, the company is incorporated (as an LLC/C-Corp). Logos are designed, development charges full speed ahead, and promotions starts the buzz (there’s even been mention that VoSnap is in negotiations with an undisclosed investor – and the number 40million keeps popping up. Could VoSnap be hiring soon?)
- We have streaming video on UStream – but rather sketchy internet in the offices – with connections going up and down – but we make the very best of it.
- We make TechCrunch!
- We get really close to a working alpha prototype (we could already be there – I left around 11 PM).
- I got to meet some of the most talented and amazing folks on the planet – I’m coming up with a list to share
All and all, I can’t wait to get back to StartupWeekend. A special thank you to Andrew Hyde for inviting me – and for telling me I helped to inspire this amazing endeavor!

Erica, it’s no surprise to me that you would’ve helped inspire something like this. You ROCK! Keep up all of the incredible work that you do.
Hey Erica, awesome job there
I can’t believe the TechCrunch community, instead of encouraging you guys they are giving reasons why this won’t work or why it’s not siginificant, looks like its digg 2.0
hey erica, that sounds awesome! I love ideas like this. can’t wait to see the final product
Hi Erica
What a great idea! I had such fun watching the development over the weekend but was sad the product didn’t launch in time. I would love to see something like this develop in Houston.
