Have you ever…?

by Erica on December 12, 2006

…worked really hard on something.  I mean put your heart and soul into it…and then have it completely fail?  Have you ever done ABSOLUTELY everything right…but still not gotten the results that you wanted.  And at the end of the day…did you ever feel so depressed that you didn’t want to think about it…and maybe even shed a few tears?

And then…so as not to think about it…you threw yourself into your work?  Hoping…that maybe…just maybe — at the end of the day something good would come of this situation?   Well…that’s where I am right now.

On the bright side…I’ve never been more productive.  I mean never.  And I’m getting lots of overdue tasks done.  On the down side…I’ve never felt so miserable.  Ever.

What it comes down to, is that I am not used to failing at things that I put my heart into.  It doesn’t usually happen.  In fact, I don’t think it has ever happened.  Not when my heart was really in it.

I’ve only spoken with one person about this…and I want to thank him for helping to put things into perspective for me (YOU know who you are).  Okay.  Well back to work.

Hopefully everything turned out for you and your project. Sometimes a failure leads to another opportunity or another lesson to be learned. Sometimes, success is just around the corner.

I don’t know how your project turned out, but I know either way, you made the best of it. :)
