Two Types of People

August 30th, 2006  |  Published in Misc.  |  1 Comment

I have become convinced that there are only two types of people in this world.  Those that allow people to be themselves, and those that want them to be something else.  One of my dear friends J.T. once told me that my greatest quality is that I make people feel good about being exactly who they are.  I think that’s true…although I’m not certain exactly how or why I am able to do this.

Perhaps it’s that I have been through a lot in my life.  Much of which has helped me to more deeply understand myself and those around me.  Or maybe it has something to do with the way I approach life.  I tend to approach everything with a touch of wonder, curiousity, and joy.  Which is why I love movies like Finding Neverland that capture the spirit of innocence.

I Have Blogger's Block
I was chatting with my friend Laura Mayes tonight - explaining how I have Blogger’s Block.  Tomorrow I head to San Francisco - and I’ve already stocked up on awesome reading materials for the plane - including the Complete Works of Jane Austen and Katharine Hepburn’s Autobiography.  Laura’s advice:

The best way to get out of a block is to read good writing.

And to go to Northern California.

Check. And Check.

Link Policy

My personal link policy is as follows - I only link to the blogs of people I actually know in real life (with the exception of the "Other Erica's" section). I think when you add someone to your blogroll there should be real meaning attached. Most of the people I link to are not only acquaintances - but folks I am lucky enough to call my friends.
