Day 8 - Back in the Swing of Things

August 29th, 2006  |  Published in Uncategorized  |  2 Comments

So…I’m back home in Houston tonight after a very exciting 4 days in Austin…and I’m ready to start working hardcore on a couple of projects locally. Interestingly enough, Kelsey and I tested out Skypecasting tonight…the quality was a bit better then average…and overall it was a very simple process. I have a vision for something big that I would like to do in the near future that is a combination of BarCamp, Universities, Podcasting, and Vlogging. We’ll keep it all hush-hush for now, but keep your eye out ;)

Okay, so on to today. As promised, I am back in the swing of things again here on Reinventing Erica. So let’s get down to brass tacks.

Career Developments

  • Classes for U of H on Blogging & Web Apps start at the end of September, in combination with this I would like to visit with Michael Verdi at Node101 and chat a bit more about Vlogging.
  • Creativerse will be designing the website and promotional materials for College Tours of America this month.
  • I’d like to start a Video Podcast with Kelsey and Larry talking about how to use different Web 2.0 Apps. Nick and Zack from Seen Creative have already agreed to come on the show to discuss the design and development of their first Web App billQ.

Health & Fitness

  • Not Much to report on this front, except I have managed to avoid all Fast Food since the beginning of this project.
  • I’ll have to re-evaluate some of my current goals, finding a more realistic approach.

Financial Developments

  • Still saving, and spending less money on entertainment overall. Although, I’ll admit I spent a great deal of money on BCT this last weekend.

Intellectual Developments

Today I also started Tony Robbin’s Personal Power. I’ll post more on this later tonight.

Let’s setup a lunch (my treat) - we can talk about what you are doing, what I am doing - who knows maybe see some crossover and ways to help each other out. I am always looking for positive people intent on moving forward and you fit the bill. :)

I Have Blogger's Block
I was chatting with my friend Laura Mayes tonight - explaining how I have Blogger’s Block.  Tomorrow I head to San Francisco - and I’ve already stocked up on awesome reading materials for the plane - including the Complete Works of Jane Austen and Katharine Hepburn’s Autobiography.  Laura’s advice:

The best way to get out of a block is to read good writing.

And to go to Northern California.

Check. And Check.

Link Policy

My personal link policy is as follows - I only link to the blogs of people I actually know in real life (with the exception of the "Other Erica's" section). I think when you add someone to your blogroll there should be real meaning attached. Most of the people I link to are not only acquaintances - but folks I am lucky enough to call my friends.
